Plan for the First Workshops
The First Workshops
We successfully held two workshops and held a mini-exhibition on 2nd March. This is the format we used for the first workshop series. We’re going to review what we’ve learned and plan a new series of workshops soon.

Here’s the breakdown of what happened.
See other posts for info from each stage – workshop two and mini-exhibition.
Workshop 1: Saturday 17th Feb from 2-5pm
This afternoon session is where we get to meet each other (there will be no embarrassing icebreakers!), decide what we’re aiming to get done and generate ideas for games and inventions. The team will be on hand to encourage you to release your inner mad inventors and to work out how to make your designs a reality. Oh, and to make the tea. We hope to come away from this session full of plans and ideas for the full day workshop on the following weekend. This workshop is happening at Bill’s Attic in Redruth.
Workshop 2: Saturday 24th Feb from 10am – 5pm
This session is our full day of making at The Art Room. When you arrive you’ll find everything you need to bring your ideas to life. You can work as a team to make something ambitious or spend the day building your own individual invention, but our team will be there to share their skills and support you either way. We’ll break for lunch at some point around midday and you are very welcome to bring a packed lunch to eat in The Art Room, or we can direct you to some places to eat in town. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available all day.
Mini Exhibition: Saturday 2nd March from 2pm
On the final Saturday we will be holding a display and celebration of the things you have made in the arcade space outside The Art Room. The details of this will depend on what we have to display, but we’re aiming to invite friends and family, have a few snacks and find out how you felt about the whole thing!
