About Fluxus Cornwall CIC
Who are we?
We’re not the council, not the government, not a committee. We’re just a group of friends with a variety of skills and experience who formed a Community Interest Company (Fluxus Cornwall) because we want to bring good stuff to Redruth town centre.
Tina Varcoe
Tina has 20 years of teaching and workshop experience, a huge field of knowledge of creative methods and mediums; experience of running a business and working with a wide variety of people and groups and is an established part of the community in Redruth.
Paddy Deakin
Paddy also has extensive teaching experience and of working with / mentoring a broad section of the community. He has taught IT, Computing and Games Design and runs a web design business. His speciality is online training and he is an expert in WordPress and digital marketing.
Dr Richard Brown
Dr Richard Brown is an experimenter and inventor – his interactive and time based creations blending art and science, theosophy and alchemy. He has a PhD in Computing and Performance, an MA in Fine Art and a BSc in Computers and Cybernetics. His major work, ‘The Mimetic Starfish’ has been exhibited internationally and premiered in the Mind Zone of the Millennium Dome – “Best thing in the Dome”, Times 2000.
Simon Beamont
Simon Beamont is a toolmaker, precision engineer, coded welder, fabricator and teacher. He is also a sound engineer specialising in sound for film. Simon fabricated the steelwork for the Mind zone that Dr Richard Brown exhibited at The Millenium Dome.
Fi Henshall
Fi has been making automata professionally since 2009, and her work is included in both national and international collections. She often accepts commissions and film set design work.
